There are moments in life that challenge us, making us feel defeated, lost, unmotivated, anxious, depressed and oftentimes stuck. Jennie's goal is to provide constructive therapy that can help bring you out of that feeling giving you hope, courage, and confidence. She provides an empathetic environment making you feel safe, connected, and heard. Deciding to come to therapy is the first step in improving your life. She combines effective listening with compassionate conversation to allow individuals to learn to take control of their emotions and lives. She believes in a strengths-based approach, allowing an individual to see what they have overcome as a way of strength, and growth.
As a therapist, Jennie uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy, allowing you to understand where your thoughts, feelings and behavior come from and how to change them. Strengths based approach, allowing you to recognize your resilience and strength in your day to day. Motivational interviewing, allowing you to gain personal motivation towards change.
Jennie received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University and her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Wayne State University. She has experience in crisis intervention, treatment for anxiety and depression and helping individuals learn to cope with past and present trauma. She works with teens, adults and enjoys working with couples and families to find effective and long-lasting solutions to relationship barriers.
