Amanda grew up in Michigan and graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in 201. She then moved out west to explore career options and expand diversity experiences. There Amanda was able to start working in the mental health field as a Senior Field Mentor with at-risk youth in a wilderness therapy setting. From there Amanda attended the University of Utah where she completed a Masters in social work, in 2019, while interning with the Veterans Affairs hospital where she developed mindfulness based practices and Utah Healing Center where she worked in animal assisted therapy.
In 2020 Amanda moved back to Michigan to continue working in the mental health field and completed a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certification for youth. Over the years Amanda has continued to attend training for development of skills in Motivational interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Amanda utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to address clients concerns and utilizes
principles from appropriate therapeutic modalities to complete client goals.
