Grief Support

Some of the toughest moments of our lives are colored by grief and loss. We're here to help you through those moments.

Long Road

Grief Therapy

Grief is complex due to the nature of loss, with a range of feelings, thoughts, and emotions. In therapy, we will work to cope with the emotional, social, and psychological impacts of loss. We work to provide an environment where emotions can be processed and health coping mechanisms are developed.

Coping with Loss

Working through the various feelings we feel with grief can help us understand the grieving process. Additionally, engaging in therapeutic activities to commemorate the deceased and their placement in our lives can assist in our bereavement process. Our clinicians work with clients to manage grief-related stress and adjust to life without friends or family members. We recognize that grief is highly individual, and we work to tailor our treatments to our clients.

Group Support

We are currently working within our community to create an initiative in which we provide support through endless resources and community connection. We have worked to create a grief support group, free to all both current patients and community members alike. Join us , Friday's at 12!

Meet Sara & Margaret!

Sara N: I have over 20 years experience in helping navigate the journey of grief. My goal is to help develop tools to assist in coping with loss and also identify ways to maintain connections.

Maragaret M.:

Throughout life we experience many different types of loss:

·      death and dying

·      estrangement from a loved one or community

·      changes in career

·      “empty-nesting” and other role changes

·      trauma-induced loss, and more.

With loss comes grief that is unique to each Client. I employ an eclectic approach to grief work that can include storytelling, incorporation of non-traditional mourning practices, identification of supports and resources, integration of successful coping/soothing skills, and leveraging of personal strengths.

Meet Emily & Diana!

Emily K.:

I was born and raised in the Golden State of California, spent some years in the rainy Pacific Northwest where I got my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Portland State University, and ended up in Michigan where I got my Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I pride myself on my compassion, humor, and curiosity which drives my interpersonal practice.

I worked in the field of Veterinary Medicine for over ten years where I gained a deep understanding and passion for the human-animal bond, inspiring me to pursue a career in Social Work. I care immensely and advocate for the well-being and empowerment of my clients to live the life they want to live. I help my clients work through issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma while assisting them in understanding the intricacies of their mental health journey. I am trained in modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and others.
