Hannah Gianfermi
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LLMSW
Hannah’s approach to therapy is based on the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspective, which focuses on the automatic thoughts one is having about oneself, others, or the world while addressing unwanted behavior patterns. She will facilitate conversation to work alongside you in your therapeutic journey, and use reframing of negative thoughts, homework assignments, and genuine empathy. She had earned a Master's of Social Work and a Bachelor's of Social Work from Wayne State University. Hannah holds a limited license in social work and will be fully licensed in a couple of years.
Hannah has experience with Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral strategies, and Mindfulness-based interventions. She will modify my treatment based on what works best and will establish coping strategies that work best for you, alongside you.
She has provided mental health and life skills to children ages 6-17 in Detroit, MI, helped complete a research paper on a Telephone Outreach program (Healthier Black Elders Center in Detroit), and facilitated a virtual social group for older adults (Party Line). She works best with young adults to older adults who are experiencing depression and anxiety.
