Margaret McCall

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LLMSW

LLMSW MargaretMcCall.jpg

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and recently returned to begin my career as a clinical social worker. I previously worked as a Director of Audience Services for several large not-for-profit theaters in Chicago, where I developed my interest in working closely with individuals and groups. In my free time I enjoy gardening, hiking, and spending time with my dogs.

I approach work with each Client from a non-hierarchical perspective: I learn with and through my Clients how best to assist them in reaching their goals.

My approach is eclectic and includes:

  •  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  •  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  •  Narrative Therapy

  •  Support and community building

  •  Strengths identification and leveraging

  •  Pattern recognition

  •  Resource identification

While I initially trained as a group therapist, I also enjoy working with individuals. I specialize in working with Clients who are:

  •  Navigating anxiety and/or depression

  •  Experiencing a life transition

  •  Coping with burnout

  •  Grieving

  •  Caregiving for a loved one

  •  Interested in addressing patterns of people-pleasing and/or codependency
