Meredith Bayus

Bachelor of Social Work Intern

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to help people become the best versions of themselves. Through an eclectic yet grounded approach to therapy, my goal is to provide clients with a compassionate, honest space to grow. I aspire to work with adolescents and young adults, especially those who struggle with self-esteem, anxiety disorders, and social difficulties. I know that growing up is no easy experience, especially in today’s climate, and I aim to be a peer specialist that clients feel comfortable talking to about both current events and past traumas.

In addition to psychology, I study music, and would love to incorporate my skills into music and art therapy. Helping clients feel secure in themselves, as well as their relationships to others and the world around them, is my ultimate goal. Although I’m still an undergraduate student, I look forward to being a part of this practice and helping clients thrive as much as I can.

Welcome! I’m so happy you are here.

I’m currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan with a concentration in Interpersonal Practice. I believe that every individual is the expert of their own life, and my goal is to create a supportive, inclusive space where clients feel seen, valued, and empowered to grow.

As I continue to grow as a clinician, my work focuses on supporting women, couples, and individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem challenges.  I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions, while integrating mind-body awareness and wellness principles to support holistic healing.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process, one that invites self-discovery, healing, and growth. Whether you’re working through mental health challenges or navigating a season of transition, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward greater clarity and well-being.

Daniela Arroyave

Master's of Social Work Intern

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

Hello!  My name is Daniela and I am a Master of Social Work intern at the University of Michigan. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up fully as yourself, without needing to filter, explain, or shrink who you are. My goal is to create a warm, affirming, and collaborative environment where clients feel seen, respected, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

As a queer and Hispanic immigrant, I understand how identity, culture, family expectations, belonging, and systems can shape our mental health and daily experiences. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and I value creating a space where clients can express themselves in the language that feels most natural to them. I am especially passionate about supporting immigrants, first-generation individuals, and LGBTQ+ clients as they navigate transitions, relationships, self-discovery, stress, anxiety, and the unique pressures that can come with holding multiple identities. At the same time, I welcome and value working with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and genuine connection. I believe healing does not happen through judgment or having all the right words. It happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to grow, and supported enough to keep going. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or simply ready for change, we can work together to better understand what you are carrying and build tools that help you move forward.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. Reaching out for support  can be hard, frustrating, or overwhelming. I am committed to meeting you where you are, moving at a pace that feels right for you, and working together to focus on what feels most important to your growth and healing.

Gisell Mora

Master's of Social Work Intern

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

Hello!

My name is Gisell Mora, and I am a Master’s student pursuing Social Work at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. With a bachelor's degree in psychology, I believe mental health is impacted not only by our experiences, but by our environment, genetics, socioeconomics, and systems. As a student in social work, I feel the importance of how these systems impact the human experience is vital to understanding a person. I am determined to provide mental health aid as well as resources that support the overall wellbeing of my clients.

As a woman of color, I am passionate about social justice and have a deep understanding of cultural humility. In addition to my training, I am fluent in Spanish, and it is my goal to bridge the gap between Hispanic communities and mental healthcare. I take a client-centered approach, focusing on empathy, collaboration, and meeting the client where they are. My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and supported. Curiosity and research motivate me as a student, and I have many fields of interest—such as women's health, emerging adulthood, life transitions, spirituality, and parenting—while remaining open to many more specialties.

Reaching out or finding the right fit can be difficult and frustrating. I am committed to supporting you through your journey, whether it has just begun or you have been on it for a long time.

Lexie Intern

Lexie Formanek

Master's of Social Work Intern

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

As a clinical intern, I am dedicated to supporting children and adolescents as they navigate the emotional, social, and academic challenges of growing up. I seek to work with young people facing anxiety, trauma, grief, identity-related stress, school difficulties, or struggles with emotional regulation, and I aim to offer a space where they feel understood and supported.

I use trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches to meet each client where they are. My work focuses on helping youth build coping skills, strengthen their sense of self, and develop healthier relationships at home, at school, and in their communities. I also value collaboration with caregivers and support systems to create consistent and sustainable change.

I know reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and my style is warm, patient, and grounded in empathy. I strive to create a safe, validating space for young people to explore their experiences and grow. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you and your child on their path toward resilience and emotional well-being.
